Squad Selection Criteria

The Southern Region Snowsport Association invites its best athletes to attend a Squad Selection Day. The Squad Coaches then hand pick the racers to form the Southern Region Alpine Race Squad.

The following factors are taken into consideration when inviting racers for selection:

1. ESC Seed points
2. Recommendations by club coaches

The squad selection is held annually about a month or so after the last race of the summer race league.

Racers can be recommended by their club coach for consideration at any time throughout the year and will be invited to join in with the next squad training session where they will be assessed by the squad coaches. In this way, a racer that could not attend the annual selection day may still be considered.

In ALL cases, the Squad coaches decision is final.
