Tri region race winners

Posted on 2009-10-17 15:24:15

Big well done to all SRSA racers that turned up on a very cold morning at Brentwood for the tri region yearly race meet. The D team came 3rd in the plate competition, runners up were the E team only to be beaten by SRSA F. In the main event for the trophy SRSA B were runners up. Today has seen one if not the best SRSA teams across the board in a long time and has shown the other regions what we are about. Again well done to all. Big thanks to Janet for the thankless job of organising the teams and also thanks to Steve Trotter for sorting out the race tops.

Southampton Race

Posted on 2009-08-06 20:14:36

Just to let you all know that the young girl who had an accident at Southampton on Saturday is Ok. No serious injury just badly bruised and sore.

On the race on Sunday there was talk by a few that it was Southampton\'s timing gear that broke. It was not, it was the regions wireless timing gear that broke. If it had not been for Southampton Club the whole day would have been finished after the first timed run. So thank you to Southampton for sorting at short notice.

Also thank you to the manager of SAC who let the kids on the ringos for free to appease the wait.

Also a personal thank you to all the managers and committee who made the right decisions on the day, thanks for the support.

New Fun Team Races

Posted on 2009-04-10 15:13:34

This year we will be running fun team races, where all clubs will be mixed together. the aim being to make sure the new and little ones get to race in a team. Rather than Team a,b,c,d,etc we would like you to come up with a group of names we can use instead. The Club competiton is still on for A Teams only. This year for the Overall season winner male and female there will be cash prizes at the end of season.Any news at your club let any of the committee members know and we will post it on the web site.

Race Entries OPEN

Posted on 2009-04-03 22:17:27

Firstly, apologies for the delays in opening race entries this season. There have been some extra delays setting up PayPal that we had not expected. As such, entries are opening with payment by post/cheque for the moment - with online payments hopefully becoming available for later in the season.

If you were registered with the old website, you should receive an email in the next few hours containing your new password for the SRSA website (if you don't get it, check your junk mail folder). You can change the password to something easier to remember on the website using the "edit details" link. Obviously people change their email over time, so if you know someone who has not received this, please point them in the direction of the SRSA website so they can reregister.

I hope that the entry system is straightforward to use. Once you've logged on, go to the "enter races" page where you can add new competitors/enter this year's races. Once you've entered all the races you want to for now, click "Create invoice for the above entries". You'll then be able to print this invoice ("Print Invoice") and send it, along with a cheque for the correct amount (with the invoice number written on the back), to the address given.

Once we receive the money, your entry will be confirmed and appear on the entry list for that race.

If you have any problems or concerns, don't hesitate to contact me (communications@srsa.org.uk).

Regards,

Pete Calvert

SRSA Communications Officer

Change in Club Championship Format

Posted on 2009-02-04 19:46:47

This year changes are being made to the club team competitions at the SRSA league races, and a new scratch team competition is being introduced.

Each affiliated club will be allowed to enter one team in the 11 and over category and one team in the under 11’s. These teams will compete in a club knockout competition.

All racers (including those who have been in a club team) can also enter the scratch team competition. Racers will be asked to indicate whether they wish to be included in this when completing their online entry. The teams will be drawn according to the results in the individual runs earlier in the day so that they are as even as possible. The competition will be run as a simple knockout.
